Dr Iain Butler
Dr Iain Butler was born and raised in Durban. He studied medicine at the University of the Free State in Bloemfontein, completing his training in 1999. After completing his internship and community service, he then specialized in Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, completing his training in 2008 and graduated cum laude.
He was the principal specialist in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology at the University of the Free State for five years. He has undergone additional training in middle ear and lateral skullbase surgery, as well as in the field of middle ear and cochlear implants. He has a passion for the management of congenital and acquired hearing loss and is a member of the South African Cochlear Implant Group.
